Abstract

The circular economy, mentioned repeatedly in recent years by politicians and businessmen, when referring to environmental management processes in the business sector, the socio-ecological challenges of the Anthropocene, have led to the concept of the circular economy being part of a model of transition towards a sustainable, fair and resilient future, but one that is also economically efficient and effective. The current definition, objectives and ways of implementing the circular economy are still unclear, inconsistent and questioned, as demonstrated by Akyazi (Akyazi et al, 2023). At the same time, different actors and sectors are articulating circular discourses that align with their interests, and that often do not sufficiently examine the ecological, social and political implications of circularity, as demonstrated in 2023 by Akyazi (Akyazi et al. , 2023) and that will be presented in the present study. The authors of this scientific article review some of the current points of view on circular economy models, presented by different trends in economic and social thought at an international level
