Innovation in Ecuadorian higher education

Abstract

This article highlights the importance of concentrating innovation efforts on generating more value for customers, stating that, in the case of university education, it is necessary to consider students as the ultimate beneficiaries of innovation. Thus, based on this concept, this article shows the perception of a sample of Ecuadorian university students on the suitability of the means made available to them, by the universities themselves. For this, a survey instrument was developed and, after exploring the data collected to verify its reliability, through a confirmatory factor analysis, a multiple regression was carried out, to show the elements that explain the degree of suitability of the media offered by the universities. In particular, considering the difference between the needs of students of social and exact sciences, this study proposes a differentiated analysis for each of these categories considered
