Abstract

Brazil has established itself at the global level with an industry park that places it year after year among the largest economies in the world, being an important player for the investment decision of shareholders. To increase this share in world industrial production, one of the factors of competition for industries is low production costs. In this context, this work aimed to make a proposal for a procedure for qualitative analysis to complement the virtual approval of the design of manufacturing devices that contributes to the identification of faults and opportunities for improvement. Through an exploratory research of qualitative and conceptual approach, and according to the lessons learned in the implementation of devices of a company in the interior of São Paulo, Brazil, the procedure proposal resulted in 73 evaluation requirements, which were organized in a hierarchical format for determining possible points of device failure. The proposed procedure allowed, through a history of failures and successes in previous practical cases, to enumerate what needs to be evaluated and to sequence what needs to be evaluated first. The work developed provides conditions to reduce efforts and direct attention in its development to what really matters at each moment of the evaluation sequence.
